Waltham House Reno- Phase 1

Move to Boston...CHECK!
Get Married........CHECK!
Careers.............CHECK!
Move outside the city, buy and old, two family house and totally renovate it to flip in 2-3 years.......Oh man, this should be interesting.
So this is the story of two Newlyweds, Melissa and Brian, and their friends Dimitri and Kendall- moving outside the city of boston, with dreams and dollar signs dancing in their heads.
The plan: buy an old two family, that needs a little (or a lot) of TLC, live in it, and fix it up to turn a profit. Start date: October 29, 2010.

Weekend 1

So we decided to jump right in. With our fingers still sore from signing the millions of closing papers, we packed up the trucks, cleaned house, and moved right on in to 85/87 Irving Street. Of course after day 1, we thought we deserved night out on the town to check out some of the local watering holes :-)

Weekend 2: And the demolition begins...

Painted the Saunders unit living room on Friday.

Started the downstairs kitchen demo on Saturday- demo and cleanup took, pretty much, a good 2 full days. Dusty, messy, gross...
Kendall and Dimitri- he can't wait to tear down some walls!
Heeeeres Bri
Pre

During
Post..."what have I done???"
Radiator- the last man standing...oh yeah, and Bri
And this is what Darius did the WHOLE weekend. Not phased.

Sunday- We get by with a little help from our friends...and family!
Pat took some aggression out on that wall
Abby and Ted- Painting Machines
The dads in the basement...pre-catastrophe. A minor freak out when the main water supply shut off valve broke- it was a real "Money Pit" moment. The following exchange sums it up:

Bri- "Dad, I've got all of my weight on this thing and the water wont stop...what should I do??"
Bri's Dad- "Oh man I don't know Bri, looks like your screwed!"

Dimeech and I got on the emergency line, we were literally 3 seconds from having the fire dept sent out...on a Sunday. Thank god the Saunders men figured it out!!

STAY TUNED FOR WEEKEND 3...

We'll get through this...with booze
